Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark long, blonde hair with a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its landscape. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled after earning an English degree as well as a communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable experience for me. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic place to study. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for one year taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which left a lasting impact in her point of view. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. as a speaker, guest and teacher she travels across the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her career. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to be able communicate with people what is truly important for her.
